Looking for a new book to read this summer?

This is why I love the world wide web so much. All of this incredible information at our fingertips. Want to learn about html? There are websites with tutorials that will help you do that. Low on cash and can't afford that Stephen Hawking's book you've been wanting to read? See if it's online or maybe you can swap one of your books for that book with someone else online. Amazing.

With today's technology people are reading books in new ways. You no longer need to carry around a book because you can now download them to your PDA, iPod, or eBook reader. I personally LOVE to curl up in my favorite chair with a good book, but that's not for everyone. And the best part about getting these books online is that they are free! Yes, I said it. Free.

There are actually quite a few places online where you can find free books....thousands!

I am NOT going to list all those places because I stumbled upon a blog that has compiled quite a few already.

The blog is Friedbeef's tech.

There are also links to websites where you can swap books. There are also short story podcasts! And for the comic book lovers.....yes...even comic books! I think this is great! Too many people have forgotten about reading and one of the reasons I love J.K. Rowling as much as I do is because she has brought back the love of reading for a lot of adults and kids. Gotta love those Harry Potter books!

And yes, there are study guides and tech resources for all you brainiacs who never rest. I love the amount of audiobooks out there since I don't like most of the stations on the radio unless it's NPR. Have fun and enjoy a good book or podcast today.

Hi Brad! Thanks. I know it's true.....that's what I love audio books because I can just put one in while I;m in the car which is a lot. My daughter reads so much....she reminds me that I need to give myself time to do that.

Good morning, Pamela

Good post !  I have read some books online...mostly the old classics. I know a home inspector who carries around an ipod loaded with books and and gives it to the realtor to read during home inspections, which can sometimes take 3 hours.  A very thoughtful guy.

I too am an avid reader. There are always 5-7 books on my bedside table and I alternate them depending on my mood.

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out!

Hi Pameal-  I am a huge reader.  I have bookmarked your site.  Like you I love to curl up with a good book but I'm sure I will have use for downloaded books also.  You can never have too many books as far as I'm concerned.

Hi Jo-Anne! Your welcome. That home inspector is VERY nice! Great idea. :)

Hi Marchel. I agree...you can never have to many books or to much knowledge.
