Real Estate Video - Success Story

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Wellcomemat.com

Good things are happening…

Be encouraged. A success story:

Susan, a writer for The New York Times, needed to sell her NYC apartment. Videographer Teddy Stoecklein was found on WellcomeMat and hired to shoot the video. After Susan listed her property with real estate agent Doug Heddings, the video was viewed by an Italian woman who only viewed the video twice before scheduling a physical appointment. The woman couldn’t decide whether or not to put an offer on the property, so she decided to send the video link to her family in Italy. The video was then viewed three more times by her family. With the help of WellcomeMat and her family, the woman decided to put a contract on the $800,000 apartment at list price. The apartment sold after being viewed only five times. Now that’s the power of online real estate video.

We know there are success stories like this one happening time after time with WellcomeMat users. We look forward to hearing more of these stories, and sharing them with the WellcomeMat community.

Excellent video - nicely produced.  I included a link to it in my blog post about real estate video!  Great success story!

Nice video, and I liked the jazzy music which was appropriate for the city location (I thought).  I'm not surprised that it helped you sell the property. The only think that I thought looked a bit strange was the fact that the camera was at about belt-buckle height looking up at the agent.  Was the camera person REALLY short?  The agent was always looking down at the camera.  I realize this gives the agent an authoritative look, but it just struck me as a bit strange.  Here's a screen capture (see how the camera is pointing up and you see the ceiling instead of being a eye-level):

Very cool story and I have become a real believer in video during the past couple of years.  Once broadband hit most markets video has exploded on the web.

I think what you're doing is a far better tool than the current "standard" virtual tour which often is a disappointment to users / buyers when they find out it's just a slide show of the pictures already on MLS or Realtor.com. Not to mention the plug-ins for each kind of 360 viewer can be a hassle for users and don't always show the home in the best view - literally.

Having been in the local broadcast market a few years before becoming a Realtor, I just started working with a former colleague of mine to start shooting actual tours of my listings... I mean, who doesn't use QuickTime or Windows Media? How about the iPhone user sitting outside a listing?

I appreciate your success stories because we need positive news and personally they validate my own reasons for offering downloadable or streaming narrated content for my listings... so please keep posting them. :)

Kudos!

@Bronson

We are here, and ready to help you dive into video any time!

@Sam

The cat is officially out of the bag!  Agreed.

@Lori

Thanks for the kind words!  Your broadcast work will translate perfectly to becoming the source of hyper-local information.  Believe that people are looking for the knowledge that you and your colleagues have.

Christian,

While I don't have nearly as impressive a story as the one highlighted, I closed a home recently that the purchasers never saw in daylight until the walkthrough prior to closing!

Both purchasers worked third shift and just had problems getting out in the daylight to see homes.  At the closing table, in front of their agent, the complimented and thanked me for the ease at which they could view the home and make an offer without seeing the home in the daylight.

And a quick suggestion, if I may, of the WellcomeMat service:

- can we get statistics on where the viewers are coming from?  It is great to see how many have viewed a particular property video, but I would also like to see where those viewers are coming from to see if my marketing dollars and system are doing their job.

Great site and product!  I highly recommend using the services of WellcomeMat.com!

Ciao!
