We are going on our second week of extreme heat in Las Vegas.  It's amazing when the news reports that the temp is 112 degrees but yet the temperature in my car reads 121 degrees.  That's from a car that has been sitting in a covered parking garage for 6 hours.  As I drive away the temp goes down to 115 degrees. I still haven't reach any part of the valley of which the temp goes down, even in Summerlin one of the coolest places in the valley.

I love the heat here in Las Vegas,  My motto is "the Hotter the better".. So I'm never complaining about it being too hot here.  But you hear it everywhere from others.  They can't wait for winter to when the temps drop down to 85 degrees.  I love that too. 

 

Our housing market here is just as hot as it is outside.  I barely get a house in MLS and there are multiple offers on it.  Grant you 90% of our Las Vegas market is either a short sale or foreclosure.  The foreclosures are really hot commodities because with those you get an response back very quickly from the bank on whether or not they will accept the offer.  With Short Sales it takes months to get an answer. 

 

Prices are still fantastic and our inventory is pretty low. Banks should be releasing more homes in the next few months.  Hang in there buyers.  There is going to be more homes to choose from.

You could duplicate your post for the greater Phoenix area.

We are experiencing the same heat wave and low inventory on entry level and first time buyer homes priced realistically.
