Another downside to spending three summer days in a NyQuil induced slumber? Sometimes you wake up with a tropical storm on your doorstep! Folks in my neck of the woods are paying more attention than normal to this system.

What impact will all the oil swirling around the gulf have? Of course the experts claim the oil will have no impact on the system, but who knows? My fear is the storm surge will push the oil even further into the marsh ecosystem.

Hopefully this storm will whimper out and just deliver some much needed rain. But please keep Louisiana (and the rest of the Gulf Coast) in your thoughts and prayers this weekend. We have been through enough! Here's hoping for the best!

I like that weather man phrase 'tropical depression' sounds appropriate to me. Love the gulf and the south in general. I hope it's a great weekend after all.

Hope you are feeling better. I think the "experts" should eat the fish and waterfowl that go through the oil slicks.

The storms you all get there are definitely bad enough - I could not even imagine now having to deal with oil mess.  Take care,
