Pickens and Easley High School enjoy a rivalry that is intense! And these schools do not just compete on the football field! You see they have a special food drive to help Pickens County Meals on Wheels feed the community's home bound elderly. The football teams compete for the distinguished Food Fight Trophy that is presented to the winning team at the end of the game.
Weeks before the big game, students raise money on behalf of Meals on Wheels. At half-time, the high school that raises the most money is the winner of the traveling Ultimate Food Fight Trophy! So if students from wither Pickens or Easley ask for your help with the Sam Wyche Food Fight, don't worry it is not some prank but instead a great cause!
This year’s Pickens/Easley game will be played at Pickens’ Bruce Field. The game starts at 7:30 p.m. Friday, September 10.
