My Yahoo Email Account Got Hacked - Sorry If You Were A Victim

By
Education & Training with Retired Executive Director of Education at eXp Non-Licensed

Hey everyone, I apologize for a previous email that went out from my YAHOO email account.
I have not used this account for months and someone hacked into it and spammed all my 16,000 contacts.

In an effort to protect this account, I have changed the passwords, contacted Yahoo,
and their spam and phishing department, they are now hopefully tracking down the culprit.

Please accept my most sincere apology, I'm sorry for the misunderstanding and inconvenience.

By the way, If I thought you needed viagra, I'd let you find the best deal on the web yourself, I wouldn't be the
guy sending you a link.  :-)

Have a great weekend, and thanks.

Don't need the Viagra here but, your preditor must have sent you to my spam folder and I missed it!  No worries, Brad!

See you in Orlando--WOOHOO!

You're all too kind!

It's "HARD" to admit and accept when you've been violated, but I am confident that the universe will have vengeance on this perpetrator who trespassed on my contact list, and for their sake, I hope it's NOT a "Viagra karma" that repays them for their mischievous acts. :-O

Thanks for letting us know,,, Hopefully it was just a junk message and not spreading a virus.  If I happen to get an email from you, I won't even open it, at least for a few days.

I feel flattered to have been one of the lucky recipients of the email.  I'm sure you will share what you will learn on how we can better protect our yahoo email accounts, so I'm looking forward to that message.  But, please post it on AR, rather than send in in an email. :)

Once I find out from Yahoo Mail how my account was hacked and how this can be prevented by otheres in the future, you can bet I'll be posting about it. I have seen this happen to many others but never thought it could happen to me, especially as a paying member of Yahoo email services.

Don't think for a second this can't and won't happen to you, hopefully I'll be able to help reduce the odds of it happening to you if yahoo mail will ever get back to me about this.  They are not very responsive at all to my calls or emails. Hmmm...  a bit frustrating for sure.

Stay tuned.....   :-)

Been over a week and still no response or word from the folks at YAHOO.
At least us folks here at AR get back to our members, at least I do...  :-O

I didn't get the Viagra email but I have received mail order Russian brides, cheap Rolex watches and pirated software emails.  Were those yours?  :)

Hello Brad, yes - I was surprised to see one of your e-mails in my spam folder (I have a Viagra filter set up).  I thought perhaps the Hairbender Coffee must have had a perverse effect on you!  John

16,000 contacts? My old city phone book doesn't even have that many names? (Sorry about ignoring the true content of your post; I just can't get past 16,000 contacts! At 500 maximum allowed e-mails per day, it would take my contact manager 32 days to reach everybody! Forget about any urgent matters!)

What an invasion of privacy.  How frustrating and time consuming to correct.  Sorry that you went through that.
