I was just at the computer shop having my laptop fixed and wondering if all of the data, that I procrastinated in backing up, will still be there after they get it to work...
Well no matter, I am sure my phone as most of my calendar inside of it. I hope. But if that fails, I am sure the people that I had appointments with will call when I don't show up. However, I can always rely on my notebook that has my penciled in stuff inside and notes about meetings etc...
I was just thinking, you know something, I miss:
- The days which I took notes on napkins and toilet paper
- The times when a phone call could wait until we got to a phone
- When we understood the meaning of moderation and self control
- The times in which our dads did not have to explain the value of $1 dollar.
- When digging a ditch for a living was not looked down upon
- Being at home mean't wearing a robe, slacks and slippers
- You did not dare to leave the house without a coat and tie
- Shoes were made of a substance that could be polished
- Cars all used one type of fuel
- Coffee was made at home not something you picked up at a drive through
- Dinner that was eaten as a family around a table where thoughts and ideas were exchanged
- Deals were done on a handshake and your word meant everything
- When we asked if someone needed something, meant it, and did not want anything in return
