INVESTORS TIPS ~ Hazardous Substances
There are areas of Jacksonville Florida where incinerator ash was used like dirt to fill in low lying areas for development years ago, according to a story on Jacksonville.com.
A law suit is being asked for class-action status by residents who say their property values have been affected. They do not understand why their properties have been labeled potentially hazardous even though there have been no tests done to determine that the hazardous substances are on the property.
The notice is on the Legal Description and looks like this:
Investors ~ especially out of town and out of state investors need to make sure they do their due diligence when buying properties in the Jacksonville Florida area. With low prices and great deals to be had, it is tempting to just write an offer with no contingencies. This is one huge reason why that may not be the best course to take.
