Black Dog Smoke & Ale House- Urbana, Illinois- Look no further for great BBQ!
My husband and I just enjoyed another delicious meal at Black Dog Smoke & Ale House in Urbana, and it's been official for some time now: This place is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We like to go on "off" days (like today, a Monday) as it gets quite busy there on the weekends and even during peak lunch/dinner hours...but I'm certainly not complaining. I love that they're busy because it means that they're here to stay! At this point, I'm just not sure I could live without them.
How do I love Black Dog Smoke & Ale House? Let me count the ways...
- I'm from southwest Virginia where we have great BBQ. Trust me, I know great BBQ, and Black Dog Smoke & Ale House has GREAT BBQ.
- They offer not one, not two, not even three or four, but FIVE varieties of BBQ sauce.
- You can find their menu online (it's on their Facebook fan page) complete with prices. (I've always hated when restaurants don't advertise their menu or their prices...super annoying.)
- Full bar, too.
- Where else can you get a smoked sweet potato? Yummmm.
- The service is fantastic. I've been there one billion times now (well, almost) and the service is never a disappointment.
- The portions are big enough to keep my husband happily fed until the next meal. Quite the feat.
- Have I mentioned how reasonable the prices are?
Okay, I could go on and on. But seriously, you should try them out yourselves (if you haven't already)!
Black Dog Smoke & Ale House is located at 201 N. Broadway in Urbana and they're open 7 days a week from 11am til ??? late.
