I'm having an issue with RedFin clients using other agents to get them inside homes....

I had a referral client from one of the 2 remaining online referral organizations I've decided to keep working with.

They sent me a referral on a prospect that was looking to purchase a home in the Pasadena area in the $700-$900k range.

Of course, before the showings I asked him if he was working with an agent, and he stated he was not.

Well, I showed them the homes that they wanted to see and after our showiings he stated that he was also using RedFin for property searches.

Am I correct in stating that in order to use the RedFin site for searches that you have to be registered with RedFin?

Which also means that there is a RedFin in-house agent assigned to write offers for them?

Is it not the premise that one of the reasons that a RedFin clients receive such a huge concession amount when they purchase is that they arrange their own showings?

If this is the case, then I have an issue with RedFin clients using any old agent to get them into the home.

Are RedFin clients aware of the procuring cause issue?

Hi Rose, don't worry people can use Redfin's website without any obligation to Redfin's agents. So don't worry if you have a client or two who are browsing Redfin's site. Also note that we don't encourage Redfin clients to arrange their own showings. We used to do this many many years ago but today we have a huge team of agents ready to show our clients homes 7 days a week.
