Well....I did it...I 'dumped' the blackberry for the iphone.

I had been debating for a long time and googled 'what is the best phone for a Realtor' at least a hundred times.

What was I thinking for waiting so long?  A new world has been opened for me.

In the short time that I have had the iphone, I can't tell you how many times I've pulled my iphone out when a customer has asked me a question....

What direction is the back of the house? (compass)

How much is that house (as we drive by)?  (Realtor.com)

Where is the closest Starbucks? (aroundme)

Can you share that contact phone number with me? (Bump)

What is the average weather here? (weather channel)

Not to mention...keeping my grocery list on my iphone....dictating a message and having it be sent directly to my email (Dragon Dictation)....listening to my favorite music (ipod or Pandora).

Ok....now it is your turn....give a newbee iphone user some help....

tell me what your favorite iphone application is....

My favorite application for a Motorola Devour is the original reason I got a cell phone. "Dad, where are you?" That application, use the best one...being available as a full time single dad with four kids is key, critical.

For Real Estate, check out Tour Narrator. You can shooy photos of the home you are showing and take notes. You do this for each home you're showing and then you can e-mail the whole thing to your buyer!

Great idea for a post, Deb! Looking forward to reading more good iPhone app suggestions here, but this is my short list:

  1. Foreclosure Radar - they finally made an iPhone app just a few weeks ago...it's wonderful...except the photos take a long time to load when attaching them to my "marked" properties and there's no "download from album" option - you basically have to take the photo when you're in the application.
  2. Redfin - best real estate search iPhone app I've tried so far! (Disclosure: I am not associated with Redfin in any way.)
  3. YouMail - convenient alternative to checking YouMail VM by phone; you don't have to listen to all your skipped messages to get to the one you want to hear again. Just scroll down to the VM you want to listen to and click to listen.
  4. Solitaire - perfect for those times when I'm waiting with nothing else better to do! :)

Decisions, decisions...not a Realtor, but some similar needs, desires...the procrastinator in me is holding me back!

Wow, I'm going to check out some of these suggestions too.  I LOVE my iPhone.  Today I downloaded Red Laser for scanning bar codes and comparison pricing, and I think I have a new addiction.

I like UYH = Use Your Handwriting for list making, and Stick It for making post-it like notes.  Wikihow Emergency Survival Kit for first aid, and other emergency situations.  I have heard that people trapped in collapsed buildings have used something like this to save lives!

Hi Debbie, My favorite IPhone app ...well I got a few of them, one is Moixer Wallet, ....ReQuall for transcribing voice into notes (and it's free), AppSmart, it's a lot like the app store only it allows you to save interesting apps that you might want to download later......then Trapster, it allows you to see construction, traffic flow and speed traps in live time. jay
