July 1, 2010 Florida Law (statues 468.84) requires these professions to be licensed by the Department of Business and Professional Regulation.
Mold Assessors (Inspectors)
Mold Remediators ( Mold Cleanup)
Home Inspectors
"A license will be required after July 1, 2010; however, Florida Statutes provide that unlicensed activity will not be enforced until July 2011."

No penalties for inspectors or remediators until 2011. WHY WOULD YOU HIRE AN INDIVIDUAL WHO DOES NOT QUALIFY FOR A LICENSE?
The "grandfathering" clause in the law makes it very easy for qualified people to be licensed.
No license qualifies for another license.
example: Home Inspector License does not qualify as Mold Assessor License.
AM July 27, 2010 (Charlotte / Collier & Lee Counties)
8 licensed Home Inspectors
2 Mold Assessors Licensed (Doug Wall & John Cosgrove)
2 Mold Remediators Licensed (Gene Yacobacci / RMS & Mick Peterson / Disaster Restoration)
so far we have:
about 5 licensed Mold Assessors statewide
about 5 licensed Mold Remediators statewide
about 75 licensed Home Inspectors statewide
.
