Dropbox Online File Storage - My New FREE Best Friend

File storageDo you usually find yourself in a place where you need a document but it's at home in a file storage system somewhere on your PC but bottom line - it's not with you where you need it now!

I was recently introduced to Dropbox by a colleague for online file storage.  I thought okay, I'll give it a try and boy I'm glad I did.  Dropbox is a file storage system where you can have access to your stored documents from anywhere.  Below is the video that explains it better than I can.  But I want you to know 3 reasons why I think it's such a good product to have.

How I use Dropbox.

Client Access - In the real estate business we kill more trees than a forest fire.  But now, once I have all my documents I can either upload or put them to file storage on my computer and Dropbox loads them up for me.  I can then send a link to my clients and all the documents they need are in one file.  This works great because if they are in the middle of selling, moving, they don't have to look for paperwork.

Phone Access - Let's say I'm at a restaurant and get a call from the title company.  They need a document.  I can access Dropbox on my phone and send them an email link to the document.  Why - because each time I load a document into the Dropbox file storage - it creates a web address for it so I can send the document to the title company - talk about a time saver.

Personal Documents - I have some old family photos, birth certificates, various birth and death announcements, etc that we want to keep as a family historical data.  Unfortunately, we had a flood in the living room from the washing machine and some of the items got wet and almost ruined.  So I scanned all the documents and now have a family "historical file storage" on the internet.  As family we can always know where to find a piece of our history.

Dropbox - you gotta try it!  Oh! Did I mention that it's FREE, Yep.  You can purchase additional storage for real cheap but until your file storage system gets full - it's FREE.
