Crossville, Tennessee is Locally Thriving
One of the things I have noticed recently in this area, is the amount of locally owned businesses. I guess I have always seen them but I now realize how popular they are. It seems like everywhere you look, there are businesses that have been owned and operated for years by families of this community.
I think that it is great that this growing town still supports these businesses. What is funny is to also think about the competition that these places put out. I visited a local baby store the other day and found out that they were a major threat to Wal*Mart. In fact, it was said that they have reduced the sales of Wal*Mart by around 15% in the baby depertment.(This information came from a Wal*Mart employee) That is a big amount for just a locally owned business.
It is important to me to buy things that I know are more locally owned than spending money on something that came all the way from China. There are many businesses here that make everything in the stores. I know of 2 major craft stores. Everywhere you look, there is success and that is something that makes this town great.
The diversity of these locally owned businesses are incredible. You can drive down the road and stop at a local tile store and furnish your bathroom and then go a little further and buy a brand new tailored suit from two completely different stores but locally owned and operated. Big businesses are great and they attract more people but local companies are great for stimulating communities in many ways.
Visit Crossville, Tennessee to see the many local businesses and take time to appreciate these businesses in this hard economical time.
