This is why we get proofs...

Real Estate Agent with Select Realty Professionals

...and also why I always ask advertising vendors not to cut any of the verbiage from my ads.

What I said:

Looking for a home with historic charm but without the historic headaches? You've found it in this beautifully remodeled 1920's farmhouse. Granite countertops, stainless appliances, fireplace, & tri-level deck including a balcony from your owner's suite. Lots of space inside and out with large fenced back yard. Just past the state line on Ooltewah Ringgold Rd, this Georgia home is in the country but close to the city. $199,900 Buy this lovely old home with $0 down & $1,063.73/mo. Possible lease purchase also available.

And this is the proof that I got...

Now if you read it carefully, you'll see that it no longer says "...this Georgia home is in the country but close to the city." It's been changed to "...this Georgia home is in the country." Umm, OK, I guess that's factual although not what I was trying to communicate, but that isn't so very bad right?

But then if you look a little further down you'll see that "Buy this lovely old home..." (injecting a little bit of hokey Southern charm I thought!) has been changed to "Buy this old home."

Yeah, that's not at ALL what I was trying to say.

And that is why we get proofs.

By the way, 369 Ooltewah-Ringgold Rd is a lovely old home chock full of Southern charm. Check out this Ringgold home for sale.

I don't believe you would have received much activity from the ad with "old home" advertised.  LOL

Ahh yes, the foibles of artistic license : )  There's a reason why we say the things we do, and unless we're working with someone who understands real estate, we need to pay extra special super-duper attention to our marketing materials.  Great post.
