Rough Hollow, Lakeway TX is preparing for the 2010 Parade of Homes to be held October 16 - 31. They will be featuring the distinct "Bluffs" neighborhood, showcasing seven homes built by some of Austin's finest custom home builders.
Last week I attended the Realtor Preview Party. It was great fun and gave us all an enticing taste and sneek pee
k of what was to come.
Since the 2010 Parade of Homes is still a few months away, all of the homes were in various stages of construction. We were given a bottle of water and an agenda, and steered down the hill to wander through each property at our leisure. A gentleman playing the guitar was located at the end of the route, and thanks to a great speak
er system, serenaded us throughout out our touring journey.
Needless to say, I'm very glad I wore my flats. Hosts for the event asked that we spend approximately 15 minutes in each home wandering, exploring, and observing construction/partial finish each property provided. It was easy to do - in comfortable shoes. The homes were staffed with an abundance of builder representatives and we had plenty of time to chat with them about different features and highlights of their home.
Three of the 2010 Parade of Homes in Rough Hollow, are already sold and the builders are adding custom features per owner request. That was really fun to see. One home in particluar, had unique tile work in the Master bathroom. The woman of the house had chosen a special harlequin design which was interesting, to say the least. I'm anxious to return in October to see the finished product. I'm told it will blend with with the rest of the Master suite. Above left, is the stone wall of a breakfast area. A huge window to the right of the wall , overlooks the hillcountry and Lake Travis. 
It was hard to choose which features were my favorite at the Rough Hollow, 2010 Parade of Homes Preview Party. However...there was a custom doorway into a guest bath that was beautiful (right). One of the reps told me when complete, the bathroom would include a tumbling water feature over the wall just above the wash basin. Wow!
My other favorite was a front entry door that rotated, as it swung open. It was very contemporary and spectacular. Can't wait to see that one finished.
All in all, it was a fun evening. I'd love to show Rough Hollow to you. If you have some time one weekend, take a drive out to Lakeway Texas and check-out the "Bluffs". Let me know and I'll give you a tour!
Homes in the "Bluffs" start in the $600's and include all the amenities that Rough Hollow offers. Including Yacht club, 260 wet slip marina, miles of walking paths, fitness center, restaurant, and a 4,000 sq. ft. open air pavilion with commanding views of Lake Travis. Perfect for private events. I'm told there are more amenities to come...sounds good to me! It is a beautiful community with spectatular views of Lake Travis and the Hillcountry.
