Why Eco-Friendly?

Why not?

Even a home's position against the sun and wind can affect its electrical bill upward to 25%.

Are there trees around your house?

You could reduce your annual cooling costs by another 25% planting leafy trees to shade your house.

Is your house on a sloped site?

Try maintaining natural hillside vegetation, and using trees, native shrubs and ground cover as landscaping.  Save money and energy by this doing before erosion sets it.

Did you know that each day more solar energy falls to earth than the total amount of energy the planet's 6 billion people could consume in 10 years?!!

How much of that free ride are you catching?

To me going Green is not an issue, it is a reality.

We are going green or we are going brown (read into that what you want).

As a Realtor in a changing market, I will not hide my head in the sand and wait for this 'global warming' thing to pass.

The new breed of Home Owners are smarter than ever before.

They expect the same from us.

I like that.

It's smart business.

It's Eco-friendly.

It's good for all of us.

Best of luck, and go Green.

I'd like to read a blog on energy-efficient windows if you have any information.

Hey Norm:

One other question that everyone needs to ask before moving into a neighborhood: does either of my neighbors have cable I can steal or wifi that is unprotected. Ha! just kidding.

Your post is very good. Thanks.

Douglas - I had a meeting with a couple of young builders last week and was so impressed because they are very bright and are focusing on Green for so many good reasons, marketing ploys NOT one of them. They are focused on health and the environment and "good things" for all people. Barbara-Jo and Bill are so intune- we have made a horrible mess of things! It's time to clean it up!

douglas,

this blog rocks. you have an edge that not many are interested in here in central fl. it really is cause for alarm when one sees the amount of electricity that is used here especially in the summer months. my sister in tampa has reduced her monthly bill by nearly 2/3 by installing solar panels and by slightly shifting the angle of the house. one should try this technique for sure. rock on my friend and god bless america.
