I'VE BEEN IN THE REAL ESTATE BUSINESS NOW FOR ALMOST THREE YEARS AND THIS IS MY FIRST EXPERIENCE WITH  A DOWN MARKET.

I'M JUST CURIOUS IF ANYONE OUT THERE WHO HAS BEEN THROUGH THIS BEFORE HAS ANY SUGGESTIONS TO THE NEWBY NEIGHBORHOOD AS TO WHAT TO DO IN THIS REAL ESTATE RECESSION?

ANY INFORMATION WOULD HELP!!!!

Back to basics. I hoped you saved enough energy and money to make it through a slow couple of years. Many agents will drop out and fewer will get inot the business. Work on a niche market, become an expert in something, hand out a lot of cards, work on your website, take up a new hobby.

In general, make sure you're spending enough time educating yourself on market conditions, current events, even the economics of the housing and lending markets in your area.  I like working with experts (or at least someone in-the-know).  If even one or two customers like you, your reputation will spread and referrals will come your way.

I've been through 4 of them now and this is the worse.  I always tell agent to save their money.  Few do.

Hey, Sherrill!

Welcome to Active Rain.  I survive by tapping the savings account each month.  Weather the storm, and it will get better.
