I love farmers markets Mary Kay! Have fun!
Joan that is true!!
Hey Buddy
My European grandma pickled everything and anything. There were no surprises. I think she would have pickled donuts if she had discovered a way.
Nice post Kristin, this time of year we do alot of pickling, freezing, canning and drying. I love to have a bit of summer during the winter, have a great weekend
Kristen - I used to help my Grandmother preserve vegetables and fruit on the farm when I was little. She had enough for the whole winter and it all tasted great!
Kristin
It looks like someone is keeping busy.
Good luck and success.

Kristin, we don't have any preserved veggies so would vinegar work?
Tom, that sounds gross! LOL
Gerry, Good for you! That is great
John, I am sure those are great memories!
Lou, you are right!
Bruce, I would think so...try it and let me know for sure
What a clever idea. When I do it I throw in a jalapeno or two so they have some kick!

This post is so timely Kristing. I was starting to go bad so last night I got pickled too!!!
Craig, you say the funniest things..clever you!
Today is my birthday and a friend brought me a huge box of fresh veggies which would be just great for pickling! Thanks for the reminder. Love the fresh tomatoes this time of year too-can't get enough of the! Thanks, Kristin,
Yummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmy!
Barbara, you are making me hungry describing all your fresh goodies :-)
Tony, I agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Kristin, great post: always good to remind people to can and eat their veggies! Up here in Maine we have a delicious fern called Fiddleheads that grow wild and are only good for a few short weeks before they're no longer edible (sadly a very quick season, but what a delicious one!). Many of us Mainers pick the fronds, clean, blanch, and freeze them but I would be interested to try a pickled version of our state's favorite fern! Thanks, Tanya
Tanya, that sounds yummy...never knew you could eat ferns! Intersting...
Kristin---I was just in Vermont for 2 plus weeks and you can bet I ate my veggis and then some. Not to mention the Vermonters were doing their canning as well. Great post.
Thanks Josee...sounds yummy!!!
I love pickled veggies, but I've never thought of doing this. Great idea!
Thanks Cindy! Glad you liked it!
