This is a re-blog of my own blog from 2010. Veterans Day is tomorrow. My Friend Quang's speech is good enough that we should all listen to it again. This video went viral, especially among the Vets. The video has been seen over 34,000 times.

Be sure to tell your veteran friends about it.

On Saturday, July 24, 2010, We the INFORMED People sponsored The Prescott Valley Freedom Rally. Quang Nguyen delivered this stunning message. Please tell your veteran friends about his message!

One day I was at a gas station, I saw a veteran pumping gas on the other side of the island. I didn’t know what made me do it, but I walked over and asked if he had served in Vietnam. He smiled and said Yes. I shook and held his hand. His eyes started to well up. I walked away as fast as I could and at that very moment, I was emotionally rocked, this was a profound moment in life. I knew something had to change in my life. It was time for me to learn how to be a good citizen. It was time for me to give back.

Quang Nguyen, delivered at the Prescott Valley Freedom Rally, Prescott Valley, AZ July 24, 2010.

For your convenience, a written copy of his speech is at We the INFORMED People.

Check out the photos of the crowd and a listing of our programs.

p>Quang has made many videos. Check out what he has to say about Free Speech, The Delete Key and Communism.

John, thank you for sharing this with us.  I was a volunteer at Camp Pendleton when many of the Vietnamese first came over.  I was an English as a second language instructor and we taught them basic living customs in the United States.  I was so impressed with many of them and their desire to leave the war behind and make a life for themselves here.  Many, many of them came with nothing, but their spirit and it sounds like Mr. Nguyen was one of them.  ~ Susan

Thanks, Susan, for your comment. Quang is a "Patriot's Patriot" and an inspiration to me and to those who know him. He is a successful entrapreneur, running his own advertising and branding firm, Caddis Advertising.

Incidentally he is the Brand Manager for We the INFORMED People and among other things designed our logo.  He also produced this video.  See more of his work on youtube under the name PatriotNetworkAZ. He has produced more than 70 patriotic videos.

Very nice words. Newer citizens always seem to appreciate this country more than spoiled citizens. We need to send our kids overseas for a few years to get a taste of the rest of the real world.

Thanks John.  That is a great piece to share.

When I was a young airmen, we were ordered NOT to wear our uniforms when traveling, especially through airports, because some were spat on.

So very thankful our young generation today does not have the same stigma.

Yes, Dominick, the end of the Viet Nam war was a sad time for our soldiers, our country and for the Vietnamese people. Please make sure all your veteran friends see this.

Our soldiers are not now subject to the spitting and other forms of hatred, but they are still not supported the way they ought to be.

When Quang made the speech, many people in the audience were moved to tears.

Today I had a message from a fellow named William here is his question:

Did Quang Nguyen make the speach that is circulating the web beginning, "35 years ago, if you were to tell me that I am going to stand up here speaking to a couple thousand patriots, in English, I'd laugh at you. Man, every morning I wake up thanking God for putting me and my family in the greatest country on earth."

Here is my answer:

Yes, William, that is the same Quang. He is a personal friend of mine that lives here in my town of Prescott Valley. He will be speaking at our Arizona Freedom Rally II in Prescott Valley this Saturday, October 16, 2010. For details please see our website at http://WeTIP.net. This event will definitely be honoring our Veterans. We are asking our veterans to sit in the VIP seats that are close to the stage.

If you are anywhere near Prescott Valley, Arizona please come to our Arizona Freedom Rally in Prescott Valley on Saturday, October 16, 2010. It is to be held in Tim's Toyota Center, a hockey arena that seats around 5,500 people. Listen to Dr. Terry Lovell's video invitation to that event.

God bless you, Mr Quang Nguyen. You are exactly the type of "American citizen by choice" that we love. Our country is better for your presence. While I regret the awful circumstances that brought you here and all that your family had to suffer, I am glad that you are one of us, a proud American citizen. And to any veterans reading this, thank you from all of us. We all owe you, and there is no way we can ever repay your sacrifices. Kathy Young Holly Springs, NC

Mr Nguyen-I served as a nurse evacuating the wounded out from Vietnam (1968-69 and again in 1972) and saw first hand the devastation suffered by our young men in trying to help your country.  They were the finest threads of America's cloth.  Your speech honors their memory and elevates their sacrifice to the levels deserved.  You also are woven into our "cloth" and you are what makes us great.  Thank you for your kind words.  They inspire us all and hopefully will stimulate those in our country who are swollen and lethargic from its blessings to rise up and live life fully and joyfully in our awesome nation.  Your viewpoint may just stir them enough to stop complaining about what is wrong with our country and work harder to make things right.  God bless you always.  LJP. What a rewarding 10 minute speech to my patriotic heart!! My parents legally immigrated to this country in the late 1930s; one sister was born in China but became a naturalized citizen. One brother served in the Korean war in the Army; another served in the Vietnam war in the Navy. We are all very proud to be Americans and KNOW that this is the finest country in the world! Thank you to all the veterans and those currently in the Armed Forces to keep our country free. Thank you for an inspiring, heartfelt speech, Quang Nguyen. Our country needs more legal immigrants like you.

Why does the video not exist? Was it removed from YouTube? I don't a priori doubt that it is legitimate, but without being able to see for myself, I can't accept and incorporate its legitimacy in my own narrative. What happened to it?

My brother in law received the Medal of Honor for his heroism in Vietnam - I
have never met a more wonderful cadre of people than those that served with him - and indeed all our brethren who serve to protect our way of life. May God bless each and every one of them and and their families who suffer along with the soldier, sailor, marine and support personnel. May God bless America
