Security concerns over Facebook have been raised yet again.
Robert, Thanks for highlighting this aspect of Facebook. It's for this very reason that sensitive information should be "private" or not posted at all.
Security concerns over Facebook have been raised yet again.
This is a great site to connect and re-connect with folks you have not seen for some time. But what you may (or may not ) know what YOU put out here could be cause for concern. So many people disclose information about themselves that anyone who wants to “find” you really don’t have to far to go. I’ve seen people post hundreds of pictures of themselves here that they would not let their parents see but have no problem posting them “here”. And some of them are in compromising positions as well. There have been cases where prospective employers have searched through these sites to see who they possibly would hire and see things that cause them alarm. Sometimes they make the decision to pass on that person as well. You don’t want to be in that category.
Do you know of anyone who could have possibly lost a future position because of something they posted here. You have to be extremely diligent in any Social Media setting. It is for YOUR safety. Nothing is wrong with posting pictures. Nothing is wrong with posting information about you and what you do. You have to ALWAYS remember when it is posted it’s out there for everyone to see. People will judge you by what they see way before what they hear. I use Facebook to connect with family (church family as well) , classmates from way back and most important business connections. It has put me in touch with people I may not have had the opportunity to meet otherwise. Use your “head” when you are out there. Think safety FIRST.
