If you are thinking of buying a home, now is a great time, with the super low interest rates and reasonable prices. Newburyport is a great up-and-coming community where some exciting future waterfront developments are planned, together with an increased public profile. My guess is that property values will escalate in the future, making buying here a great investment.
Salisbury Beach is slated for an entirely new makeover by The Thompson Design Group - the folks who did Faneiul Hall, South Seaport in NY, Miami Bayside and many others. I've met with Jane Thompson and am assisting with this amazing and innovative project. As the State confirms it's support, it seems likely of success, which means values on Salisbury Beach might skyrocket. A great time to look at buying something there!!!
Amesbury too is going through more gradual but substantial changes and becoming a very attractive and popular community with its own selection of restaurants and night spots.
Plum Island has a lot to offer singles, and the erosion issues are being dealt with. Take a long look at the beautiful beach living opportunities there!
