There are certain rites of passage in this crazy ride we call life.  You're born, you take your first steps, say your first words, and then before you know it you're off to your first day of school. There are a lot of "firsts" in our lives. But let's not forget one of the biggest - your first house.  First time buyer (and now friend) Laura, is pictured to the right.

Everyone becomes a first time buyer at a different stage in their lives.  I've worked with buyers fresh out of college, and those that are in their 50s and 60s.  It doesn't matter when you get to this milestone - it's a big one.  And it's supposed to be fun.  It's something you'll only do once.  That's why I love working with first time buyers - they made up over 90% of my buyer clients this last year.

When you choose to work with me and my team at Goshen Realty Group to buy your first home, you can expect it to be a fun process.

The first thing I'll do is have you come into our office for a quick consultation about how everything works, what costs are involved, your needs/wants and why it's important to have your own representation.  (Just to let you know, in our market buyer's agents are paid by the seller at closing, so you don't owe me a dime at the closing table.  But, there are things such as home inspections, down payments and appraisals that are paid for by the buyer.)

After our meeting, you can have a chat with one of our local lenders.  It's important to talk to a lender not just to get pre-approved, but to understand that your monthly payment will include things such as property taxes and possibly mortgage insurance.  Our lenders understand that first time buyers have tons of questions, and they are always happy to help.  You will never feel like you are "bothering" anyone during this process.  You will always know that I'm just a text, phone call or e-mail away.

Once we've got your price range and needs/wants squared away - the fun can begin.  We'll look at houses and eventually we'll walk into a place where you'll feel right at home. It meets all your needs and it even includes some of your wants. You'll know this is the one for you.

That's when I really go to work for you - we'll put an offer together and I'll handle negotiations, setting up inspections and handling any bumps along the way - all in an effort to make your first home buying experience as fun and stress-free as possible.  Once we've cleared all the hurdles together, it's time for closing.

At the closing table, you'll sign a bazillion papers and by the end of it you'll be wishing you had a rubber signature stamp.  You'll take the keys knowing I've been with you every step of the way, watching out for your best interests and making sure you're happy during a stressful -- yet ultimately rewarding -- time in your life.

So, who out there is ready to have some fun?  Text or call me at 618-917-0775.

Kristina, I think one of the many required talents OF a good Realtor is being a comedienne at just the right time.  Being serious when you need to be, and seeing the comical or ironic side also when you need to, is one of the marks of a great agent.

By the way... this is an excellent post, so I "leaned" on that suggest button at the top.  Good luck... <smile>

Awww, thanks Karen Anne! :)  The process can be daunting to a lot of folks and I think some of us forget just how much because we do this every single day.  A little humor and fun tossed into the mix can make it that much easier on them.

Thanks again for commenting :)

Kristina:  You are quite welcome.  I don't do those six-word comments like so many other Rainers do.  I usually end up overdoing it... but that's the only way my brain seems to work.  Again, great job.
