Just wanted to take a poll and see what other blogging sites that you subscribe to, or frequently visit.

How do they compare to ActiveRain?

Are their any features on those sites that you would like to see on ActiveRain?

Are their any attributes on those sites that BITE majorly that you hope you don't see on ActiveRain?

Are there any costs involved with those sites?  Do you receive business from these sites?

Enquiring minds want to know...............

I've tried a WP blog & it looked great.  Didn't know if anyone saw it as there is no interaction.  I know that people are seeing it & AR is working.  The 'hello, is anyone out there?' syndrome.

Trulia - easy to use platform I think but I don't like it that they usurp your position in Google.  You post, they end up above you with a general search in that area.  Not good as far as I'm concerned.

AR Outsides - Can't say much is happening really with them & I have 2.

When I was a news director at a Bangor Maine radio station, some days lots of news to cover. Others when you thought how to apply the local slant on a national news story...or a return in a few months for a follow up story. But as for blog subscriptions, sometimes fun to search the wild blue yonder for a topic on outside blog or something I wanted to know about so let's do a story, post. So answer, glean all of them from Inman to Mother Earth News and everything in between. Some of the best real estate industry brain trust members ...well you see them all over the Active Rain campus, in the student union and those Greek parties, the library.

I use another blog, www.inside-real-estate.com/shelleyrowton, and it works much like AR.  If you don't blog, you get your slot taken away because it depends on the group effort to make the juice, just like AR.  I pay $67/mo and it has integrated IDX and contact forms.  It is a WP blog, and I can add pages.  I just got it, so if you check it out, forgive the minimalism!  It's a work in progress... Oh, and I get rankings with it similar to the ones that my AR blog posts generate.

I used to maintain other blogs, but what's the point? They never showed up on the searches I did. AR's blog always shows up and multiple times on the first page.

A few years ago I started a neighborhood blog with Movable Type. Free and a few readers show up.

I started a WordPress blog free to talk about Zoning in my neighborhood and have gotten some pretty good discussion as we have a slum lord who wants to do unusual things.

I'm in the process of converting my website into a WordPress blog/site combo and it's going well. Still Free.

I have a blog on Posterious which is also free and I mostly just send them an email and it is posted as a blog. Very fun and I astually have more readers there than anywhere.

AR is the best for hits and SEO. And for the education.

I follow Agent Genius and also write a weekly for them. Lani and Benn (who run Agent Genius) do have some good articles. They are young, hip, and attuned to real estate and technology. But, that's about it. Frankly, I'm running out of time in the day to do all the things I want to do.

Real Estate Websites.  It's free, but I just don't have the time.  It's enough to post to AR and my website.  I rarely get to Facebook.

Real Estate Websites, like Jane; WP (Tomato) blog, like Lyn, Trulia, and my Postorous photo blog.  There are a few others that I submit to but, for the most part, AR gets 99% of my time!

I have a wordpress.com blog, which I am considering going .org so I can add IDX (wordpress.com doesn't allow iframes).  However, I do not get google juice from it, but it looks nice!  My google profile and ActiveRain are the best for page rank on google, so I guess the winner is AR.

I'm told that activity is key to your website ranking in google.  I haven't gotten there yet, but I plan to try to put a mirror of my blog onto my site.
