Make time . . .

By
Real Estate Agent with BlueCoast Realty Corporation

It is so important to take quality time for yourself, your family and friends.  Time is the one commodity which eludes each of us -- you can never, never get it back.  You can't turn back the clock. You have to guard it with as much passion and energy as you can garner.

We just got a call telling us one of our fellow agents is no longer with us; she died suddenly, this morning.

How can that be?  I just spoke with her Thursday evening and we were laughing about ads we both ran which got intermingled -- her big, beautiful home pictured next to my itty bitty price.  We chatted briefly, commiserated about the market and moved-on to the business at hand.

She wasn't ill; this wasn't expected.  She has 2 teenage girls, a husband, loving parents and suddenly her time with them is over. There was no warning, no time to say goodbye and no time to say or do all those little, mundane things that make up one's day -- or in this instance, life.

Life is short, no matter how you attempt to measure it.  Take time to tell those you love and admire how important they are to you.  We weren't close friends, we did work together and our lives touched, if just for a moment.  We are all so saddened and feeling very vulnerable.  Our thoughts and prayers are with her family and we would ask for your prayers as well.

Tish, when someone in our world dies, especially if it's unexpected, we realize just how vulnerable we all are, and that  nobody can promise us tomorrow.  If we only lived each day as if it were our last, we might touch more people in ways meaningful to all of us, and we would, I'm sure, appreciate all the little things we take for granted.  I'm sorry to hear of the passing of your colleague.  My prayers certainly go out to her family and friends.

Tish, Unfortunately things like this happen way too often, but does recalibrate us to what's important in the big scheme!

Life has a way of slapping us "up side" the head when we least expect it.  Our reaction to such events is certainly in direct proportion to how grounded we may be at the time. it's so important to be a good listener and to hear when we need to reach out.

We never know when our time is up. Remember the saying, live like there's no tomorrow? That is why we have to cherish each day like its our last. Let our loved ones know each day how much we love them. And make peace with people who we may have in some little way hurt. I feel for you and your friend's family. Death is always a hard thing. Saying condolences isn't easy like saying happy birthday. All I can say is that even though I don't know her, she has lived her life according to God's plan. He has his reasons, his plans that are sometimes so difficult to understand. But we will find out in time. She has never left you, she still lives in each one of you. Never forget that. Give her girls a big hug and tell them that their mother lives in them, a part of her is and will always be alive in them.

Will:  I will share your kind words.  I am sorry to say that we had just recently met and were not friends in the everyday sense.  We were friendly and we were associates. Her life touched mine very briefly in a kind and happy way.  Her many friends here in the company are certainly saddened, as am I.

Expressing condolences is so difficult and your suggestion is greatly appreciated.  Thank you.
