Boating Long Island Sound ~ Rowayton & Darien, Ct.
Leaving out of Five Mile River, Rowayton Ct. for a boat tour around the shoreline of Rowayton and Darien. As we cruise past a few of the Norwalk Islands we drop anchor so we can all jump in to cool off with a quick swim. After wards we pull out the smorgasbord of food that everyone brought, ribs, salad, appetizers we all sit around enjoying the cool breeze and wonderful 360 degree views.
Just a few hundred yards away is a boat with a few locals cast fishing for Bluefish and Striped Bass hoping to catch some as the tide begins to run out. So far this year its been a good fishing season.
Once done with our picnic it back along the coast for a sunset cruise. It is a clear evening and off in the distance you can see the outline of Manhattan's skyscrapers. On the way we spot a Osprey, a Blue Heron and a few Egrets. Our sunset cruise ends up on the Darien Coast just outside of Ziegler's Cove.
It has turned out to be another perfect summer's day in Connecticut along the coast.
