Storms, Scenery and Showings

Enjoyed a beautiful drive to the exteme south of Tucson on Saturday to a housing development off of Harrison and Sahuarita, nestled close to the Santa Rita Mountains.  It was on the request list from my buyers re-locating from California.

Many parts of the road had washed out areas and I wondered how folks got home when the weather was long-term severe.  There's really only two roads to this area from Tucson - South Houghton and Sahuarita, across from Highway 19. This is driving straight south towards the Santa Rita Mountains, south of Tucson.

This view is pointing west towards the Pima Mine, west of Green Valley and Sahuarita.  I suppose one day there will be nothing but houses, but for now, there's a lot of natural desert.

At one point, it rained so hard that you really couldn't see at all to drive.  I had a passing thought -  "And I'm out showing listings in this weather???"  However, the storms usually move through quickly, and in 15 minutes, we had sunny spots again.  And of course, it was 90 some degrees, so it certainly wasn't chilly!

As you can tell by my photos, I was enjoying my drive, stormy weather or not.  Tucson and the surrounding communities and natural desert are very beautiful.

The clouds pattern a beautiful quilt of shadows over the mountain ranges that surround Tucson on all sides.

The dusty smell leaves the air and everything smells natural and fresh.  The muted greens of the desert vista are heightened.

And at the end of the day, the best reward of all.  My clients found their new home, signed on the dotted line, and now await acceptance of their offer.  A sunny day indeed!!!!

Cara, Great pictures. I often wonder if people in other locations enjoy a storm coming as much as we do here in AZ. Congrats on finding a home for your clients!
