Hi folks! I just realized today, that it has been 3 days since I wrote a post for my Blog. To be honest, that is really out of character for me. I am always very consistent and persistent in every thing I do. It’s my nature. It’s my character. The last post I wrote was about character and here I am getting away from mine. So let’s give this post a shot today and see what I can come up with. I know some will say, “Broker Bryant if you don’t feel like writing, then don’t write.” My answer to that would be, that the best way to succeed at anything, in life, is to do it whether you feel like doing it or not. Now I’m not talking about doing things that are unethical or illegal, what I’m talking about are things that need to be done to improve your business or your life. Just do it.

TLW can attest to the fact that I am a move forward type of guy. I never dwell on the past and I am able to move forward very quickly. I’m a firm believer in forward motion. Forward motion creates good things. Just do it.

My business has been very, very busy, the last week or so, with negotiations, new listings and chasing closings. All good stuff and all forward moving activities. This morning I had to prepare three listing agreements for tomorrow, renew seven listings that are expiring tonight, arrange showings on six of my listings, mail out my daily expired letter, update the Sellers for my six pending listings and try to find time to write a Blog post. But you know I woke up, this morning and didn’t really feel like working today. It was hard but I dragged myself out of bed, went downstairs to my office, picked up the phone and started making my calls. After the first couple of calls, I was into my groove and things started going well. Why? Because, I just did it. I moved forward and took care of the tasks at hand. Forward movement.

Forward movement means having a plan and sticking with it. It means being confident that the things you are doing will have positive results. It means doing what needs to be done whether you feel like it or not. It means forgetting about your bad day yesterday and concentrating on the new day in front of you. It means knowing that your success and next paycheck are waiting for you to move forward and claim them.

Moving forward is how I stay positive. For me, negative, is a past event. I choose not to go there. I don’t have time for negative. I’m to busy moving forward.

“So, Broker Bryant, what’s the point of this post?” The point of this post is to just do it. Even if you don’t feel like doing it, do it anyway. Forward motion. Trust me, when I say your life will change if you adapt this attitude.

So there you have it, my Blog post for today. I did it. Now I’m moving forward. See you in the future!

Good advice for all...keeping positive is always the best not only for you but for your clients as well. In an uncertain market it is mandatory. Sometimes, I do think it's ok, though to take a little time to regroup, when needed.

Very true words, Bryant.  Ok, now I gotta stop reading AR blogs for a little bit and just do it :)

Our secondary motto at Novation has always been Relentless Persistence with Focused Drive. The ocean, Niagra Falls, the Colorado River, cockaroaches on steriods ... just a few examples.

Way to go Bryant, great post! It's also good to remember to pick your feet up just a little bit higher and step just a little bit further - amazing how just that simple physical change in your approach to life can infect the rest of your being. We all get down - only the winners get back up. Those who get back up most quickly and most often generally earn the best places in life (deleted non PC conservative capitalist comment went here).

Do you have a full sized copy of that sunshine drawing? Iwant to print it an put it on the fridge at the main office.

That is so true. I have really tried lately getting to bed earlier, so I can start my day with a healthy routine of stretching, reading, and coffee of course. By the time I hit my home office upstairs, and make my first call, I am ready to go. Then, once I start the calls, or e-mails, it seems like 4 hours passes before I know what hit me! Thanks for the reminder about putting one foot in front of the other

It's funny how  just doing it really works. I had no clue what this post was going to be about and by the second paragraph it kind of just came together. By the time it was done I read through it and thought Wow not bad! Forward motion.

Ken I pulled that picture off of Google under "sunny day". If you can't find it let me know and I will e-mail what I have. I don't have it any larger though. I really liked it when I found it. Made me happy!!!

I just read a quote and used it in my blog it says the difference between success and failure comes down to five little words.

I did not have time.

It is so true.  I try to make time to post every few day. Keep up the good work.

Is that original artwork in your blog?  LOVE IT. It really shows your creative side.

Okay Blogmeister (one of these days I will think before I type)

You are one of the few on AR who can take on writer's block and turn it into a great blog. Real estate is not a difficult business. If you do the fundamental marketing and follow-up five-days-a-week, you will earn a decent living. If you do it longer or more intensively, maybe a greater level of business.

If you say or believe you can or cannot be successful in real estate, you're right either way.

I agree. It has been 3 days for me also and that is not like me. I really enjoy being on active rain and learning. There is so much to absord and put into play for my stratgies.

That's so funny ... yesterday I wrote about my lack of posts, but on my primary blog (I'm beginning to favor that blog over Active Rain in a lot of circumstances for a variety of reasons.)

Simply writing about not writing got things going again ... having been a newspaper report for a decade once upon a time, I'm fairly used to the times when the words just won't come.

Only way to force them forward is to go ... kinda like the methods put forth in Finding Forrester.

Bah humbug.....LOL   TEASING.

Bryant, a simple, but great message. And I agree with what Dave had to say about you.

And taking what Ken Cook said and merging it with your blog...."forward movement & just do it." What a great combination. And something else that I am using for my weekly motivation, are the quotes that so many of you have shared in my blog from the other day.Famous Quotes from famous people......  Overall...after reading this blog and those quotes, it adds to my inspiration to Move Forward.... good job Bryant.

Bryant, I agree totally.  I fine that when I get out and do what I am suppose to do, even if I don't feel like it at first, that I am glad that I did, and the rest of the day is full speed ahead. If I don't, then I feel like I wasted the whole day, and time is to valuable to do that. Great Post.

Excellent point.  I am also a "move forward type of gal" so I completely agree.  I think planning and continual forward movement create success.  Ifyou fail to plan, you plan to fail, so I put planning and moving forward together in my book.

When resisting going out to walk for exercise, I remember Dr Katahn saying, just put on your walking shoes, go out the door, and walk 10 steps.  He was right, once you've made the effort to do it, you keep at it.

Very good points Broker Bryant.

I have been having one of those weeks. I would rather be fishing but it is too cool outside. I also thought about taking a long walk around the neighborhood but saw a Pitt Bull roaming the neighborhood without it's owner. So I turned around and decided to start off my day with a hot cup of Active Rain.

Thanks for a great post to start my day! I'm new to blogging, but this was a nice boost for me - I've been feeling the same way. It seems when I force that "forward movement," and overcome distractions, the sense of accomplishment snowballs into amazing progress and results.

Hi Margaret:) You too:( It's another reason why I always move forward. Keeps my mind off things. TLW always says I'm in denial, I just say I'm busy.

Thanks for all the comments everyone. Let's all move forward today. There's lots of business out there, right now, just waiting for us to move forward and get it. I plan on excelling over the next few weeks and then relaxing a little over the Christmas holidays. But in the meantime I have 15 more closings to find.

There you go my pep talk for today.

Bryant, this is the time of year that I have always built up my inventory. This is a great time to list! Only serious buyers are out there around the holdays. Most homes never look better than when decorated and ready for entertaining...and most other agents start "taking off" til after the first of the year. Their excuse, "no one buys or sells at this time." Lots of really good business opportunities this month. Go get it!!

Margaret, The 4th quarter is always one of my busiest times. And the best thing about it is all the listings I am taking now, will be 1st quarter closings. Great momentum for the New Year.

I have found the task may seem insurmountable when it hasn't been started yet, but once it's started, it becomes manageable.  Once it's started, it's soon done, and the resultant success or free time is unencumbered by anticipation of an insurmountable task that needs to be done!  ;-)
