Mountain Living Team - Murphy, NC Realtors

There are many hidden jewels around the NC, GA and TN Mountains, but we found a few just hanging around the back fields today. It was amazing to see one then two then more and more gathered together. These five are what were left when we finally pulled out the camera. Delicate jewels enjoying another summer day in the mountains! Come visit us in Murphy, NC to explore all that nature has surrounded us with. www.LeeAndCarol.com

Great catch, Carol.  Their coloring is beautiful.  Not monarchs either are they?

Lee & Carol, this is delightful!  I can't believe the HUGE beautiful butterflies this year.  Not sure if I'm just noticing them more, but this year I see them all over our subdivision during my morning walks.  I just love the shot you were able to get - fantastic!

Hi, Lee and Carol. We must have similar species since your area in North Carolina and mine in Tennessee are not that far apart. I see alot of these same butterflies in the Big South Fork and I'm always awed by the beauty of their designs. I especially like the Black Swallowtail.
