I finally learned to turn my phone off after a certain time.  I actually got the idea from someone who commented on a blog I wrote.  I don't remember your name, but thank you.  This is probably the only thing I hate most about the business.  I find it hard to make " your time" your time.  Turning the phone off works.  Anyone who wants me bad enough will leave a message and I will call them back the next day.  My wife and I enjoy the time together more.

I'm glad you took my advice- like I stated before I always turn it off during family time and every night at 9pm. I have to make it clear that I have a set schedule otherwise my clients would call me anytime they wanted.

I have signed up for: www.callwave.com where I get a text message when I do not answer the phone so I can read what that person wanted and I never have to answer.  It works good for me, because I hate thinking that I missed an important call. Oh did I tell you this service is free.

John, Congratulations!  You've learned to create boundaries in your life and personal  business.  This is such a hard lesson.  Most of the time our clients think we are at their beck and call.  They expect you to be there when they call.  It took a while for my clients to learn that I too have a life.

Everytime I turn the phone off it's when someone wants to see a listing NOW and I don't get the message til the morning. I stop answering at nine....I'm getting better...
