Problems are not always in the easy to find areas of a home. Eastern WA Home Inspections looks in the hard to get to areas for potential problems and concerns. Pictured is an attic that has not seen mankind in years, possibly since the building was constructed. Notice the area to the rear, it opened up to another area that is not pictured. It is important to go where no man has gone before, at least not in a long while.

Attic In Moses Lake WA  Our Inspector traversed this attic in its entirety looking for issues that could effect the home and its owners in the future. At times this can be a challenging task, summer heat, low clearances, or a number of things can make the job difficult. At Eastern WA Home Inspections we use our common sense about how far we go into an area like this, safety is always on our mind, but our clients interests are also. We try to get to the tough areas if at all possible.

Home owners, or sellers would not like it if we damaged things getting to an area so we keep this in mind also, and are careful to leave things as they were when we got there.

On one inspection in the Spokane area, a contractor came in behind our inspector and had to call us to ask if we had entered the attic. It had been inspected but we left the area so undisturbed he could not see our tracks, and wondered how we found the vent that was disconnected at the far end of the space. I had to point out the difference in size between us and that I could get into areas safely that he could not and the attic had been traversed as the photos in the report showed. He made the repairs from the exterior, as he would have had a hard time getting back to the vent. Not being a large man does have its advantages.

Getting to these areas and inspecting them is important to our clients, leaving things as they were is important to the owners, at Eastern WA Home Inspections, LLC  we work hard to satisfy both.
