Uh Oh Phono

Ok so this doesn't have to do with Real Estate in general. I just wanted to share with you an experience I had yesterday. I bought a new stereo receiver a couple of weeks ago. Having been so busy with work I hadn't had a day to set it up. Yesterday was the day. Now I am pretty tech savy when it comes to the latest equipment BUT in my purchasing the receiver that has all the latest bells and whistles it failed to show me where the hook up was for my turntable (it didn't fail to show me there wasn't one!!!)I have over 400 lps and the new receiver was the reason for me to revive the classics. So in a mad panic I searched the Internet and found what they sell as a phono preamp at Guitar Center for about $50. Its a small device that boots the signal going from the turntable to the receiver. A word to the wise if you haven't bought a receiver in the past 10 years and are looking to get some use out of your lps....remember to purchase a phono preamp!

We owned approximately 1000 albums between us (my husband and I) and they sat for years, safely off the floor, and in a climate-controlled basement.  Then Napster came along, and that was that.  Then Napster went away, and that was that.  But with age and downsizing, we finally gave up the ghost and gave them to my son who bequeathed them to my sister.  They're probably worth a mint!

My husband goes to the public library in Jacksonville, Florida and finds old music.  He loves this.

I understand the trepidation regarding mortgages. My response is, go somewhere safe. Somewhere with a great reputation and customer service. Somewhere local. A direct lender... The stability offered by a bank. Also, find a mortgage that helps, not hurts your clients. As much as you would like another sale, you certainly don't want it to be due to your client's imminent forclosure!
