Look who's moving in or expanding in the Triangle/Raleigh NC area:
We hear so much about the down side of the economy and jobs lost that I thought it might be nice share some good news for a change. So let's take a look at some of the companies moving in or expanding in the Triangle business scene and statistics that surround the growth in Raleigh NC (Triangle area)... Even as some 9,000 people have joined this regions labor pool the Triangle saw a drop in the unemployment rate over a year ago, to 8.2%.
Ok, so just who is expanding or moving into the Triangle area? Here's a list of a few companies that I've been reading about:
-

- Drug research firm INC Research is expanding its presence in Raleigh NC
-
BASF is expanding - it's moving into the Lenovo Group's headquarters in RTP occupying 35,000 sq. feet at Perimeter Park
-
Deere & Co. - it's gotta run like a Deere right? We're so pleased that the tractor and turf equipment maker is moving its engineering office toCary NC this fall. About 90 engineers and staff members will be making the move to Cary NC. A big welcome to the Deere employees and their families!
-

-
Rex Healthcare in West Raleigh is planning to spend $120 million in upgrades and expansion. There's even talk that Rex wants to build a cancer hospital, consolidate its heart and vascular treatment operations, and renovate its operating rooms so it can accommodate current technology. *I can attest that this place is great - it's where I got a new knee last year!
-
WakeMed Health & Hospitals is planning a $25 million medical center and office building near Raleigh's Brier Creek. The facility is expected to be at least 26,000 square feet. The center would have about 14 treatment rooms and outpatient and emergency services.
-
StriVectin is moving into the new CapTrust building in North Hills (or Midtown as it's often referred to) which will employee about 20 employees
-
UGL Equis a corporate real estate consultancy, also is relocating to the CapTrust Tower at North Hills
-
SKEMA, (one of France’s largest business schools) is moving to Raleigh at Centennial Campus. This will be their first campus here in the U.S. We were in competition with Tampa, Florida but in the end it was the strength of Centennial campus along with opportunities with companies throughout the region with internships that finally convinced them that Raleigh was the best place for them.
And of course I just have to pass along the accolades that we've received so far this year...
