Things that Make you Say WOW!!

A couple of months ago, a member of a my "back-up team" (we back each other during vacations, etc) emailed all of us to see whether anyone would be interested in working with an investment buyer from out of state.  The buyer wanted a fix-up for his brother, and he was looking in the $30,000 range.

I thought to myself, well, why not.  SOMEONE should work with him, so I called my co-worker and said I'd be happy to help.

"Are you SURE???" I was asked.  I assured him that yes, one of us should help him out, you never know where it might lead, etc. My team member said he didn't want a referral, just to let him know how it turned out.

Well, it's been a ride.  Four blistering Tucson summer days of viewing vacant homes with his brother, three offers, weeks of negotiating with the REO sellers later--we have a contract.

Today my client called me.  He's been teasing me all along about taking me to Taco Bell for all my trouble, when he and his wife came for "closing". He even upgraded it to Furr's until I told him I like Taco Bell better.  :)  He and his wife thought that I deserved MORE than the commission I earned through the real estate transaction, and offered me a bonus - of $500.  WOW!

I promptly went off to my broker to make sure the money transferred hands in the most legal of ways, and lickity split, a few hours later I had a signed buyer-broker agreement with my new "retainer fee" attached.  AND, he says, we can go to dinner at a place with TABLECLOTHS.

Wow - a great buyer with a sense of humor, and a code of fairness and appreciation that is rare indeed.

And, let me mention, he also bought a second home for investment through me simultaneously - his purchases taking him over $80K. And...he plans future fix up and resale opportunities, because he's a licensed contractor and can come down and visit his brother the same time he's working on "projects".

...I'm glad I followed my inner voice and took that referral. It isn't all about selling Real Estate to me - it's also about relationships and the people you meet along the way.  And, I'm very glad to be meeting my new client and his wife in just a few short days.

If I can assist you in your home buying or selling in Marana, Tucson, Oro Valley, or Vail, please don't hesitate to call me!  Email at swdeserthomes@aol.com
