Every ActiveRain Blog Needs a Blogger.com Supporting Blog

Everybody wants to be #1 in Google, categorically/ universally... everybody wants the same thing. The brass ring of advertising (and the point of entry for marketing) is to rank #1 in Google

If you WANT something FROM Google, use Google's tools (as many as possible), what you want to do is ingratiate yourself with Google. If you're reading this you probably have an ActiveRain blog, some of you also have an outside blog which you are using in lieu of a conventional HTML website...

If the regional search engine competition in your geographical area isn't so stiff, you'll likely do well, that in and of itself will probably outrank your competitors but you're still going to be outranked by:

  • homes.com
  • zillow.com
  • realestate.yahoo.com

Homes For Sale Frederick Md SEO Juggernauts

"Homes.com, Zillow.com and RealEstate.Yahoo.com take up the 1st 3 ranking spots in Google'

Those heavy wieghts of real estate SEO are likely going to occupy the first 3 of the 10 available organic search ranking slots on any regional Google search results page, then you might see:

  • realtor.com
  • trulia.com

That's half the SERPS page so you're left with 5 slots to compete for...

What I'm saying is you're gonna have to pull out bigger artillery if you hope to stand a chance to rank here, what we're after is "Credibility"

If you have a commerical blog promoting a commercial endevor, you also want a "supporting blog" to go with (be associated with) your "main blog"... what I'm saying is to pull this off (Local SEO ranking) you need to "broadcast in stereo"

We know you have an Activerain blog (so we know you're in the real estate industry), you probably also have a wordpress blog hosted on your main domain (you ditched a conventional HTML website in favor of a wordpress blog hosted on YOUR website) That's 2 blogs

You'll want to add a Blogspot blog to your arsenal, Blogger.com is owned by Google.

When you get a free Blogger.com blog you'll have the option of hosting it yourself OR having it hosted on Blogger, but the URL is not going to be blogger.com, it's going to be YOURBLOG DOT BlogSPOT.com

For example one of mine is http://relocate2maryland.blogspot.com/

An effective SEO consultant is like a sport fisherman guide:

You tell me what kind of fish you want to catch; I take you to the part of the pond where those fish are...better yet, I take you to the part of the pond where those fish are AND we're the only ones fishing that sweet spot. Once we're at that part of the pond... we change the bait, and keep on changing the bait till the fish tell us what they like chomping on

There are 2 and only 2 reasons a company website makes puts money in the cash register or fails to make money:

  • Wrong part of the pond
  • Wrong bait

Yes we are for hire and have a good, better, best plan for you to choose from:

Fees For Search Engine Marketing and Social Media Optimization:

Social Media Optimization: 8 hours of one on one consultation, create social media profiles with SEO ranking specifically in mind. First Hour is exploratory, we may or may not choose to represent you, we will discover if we can realistically do something for your product or service in this first hour. Fee $100.00 per hour or $700 come into our shop at 1446 W Patrick St, Frederick Md or we can do remote log in where we can both move the mouse and I can answer questions over the phone live

Google Places or Google Local Business Listing ranking

Our SEO battle testing is showing us that Google Places (aka Google local business listings) often are the ONLY search results that display on a smartphone! Not only that - some of our local SEO clients report earning more ROI per advertising $ invested from a Google Places ranking rather than an Organic Google ranking. We provide guaranteed ranking in Google places for our small business clients Many small businesses come to us with excellent ranking in the organic listings (sometimes called the natural search results or the main body of search results) but they are NOT ranking in the 3 pack of Google Maps. Increasingly people will start using their smart phone instead of a laptop, you need your company to rank in the top 3 or you will be virtually invisible. Fee for top 3 ranking in Google Places and one listing in the top ten Google organic listings $2500 annually

We're not talking about you showing up when your company name is Googled

Try this: IT Services Frederick Md (That's our computer shop in Frederick Md)

Or this (our SEO client is divorce attorney Kelly Koch) Google Divorce Attorneys Corpus Christi

Or this (our client is Commercial Buildings Maintenance Inc) Google Commercial Cleaning Frederick Md (notice their blogspot blog is listed right below their top 2 listings?)

Keyword selection consultation: one on one consultation to select effective keywords $100.00 per hour Typically our clients have a long list of keywords they'd like to be found under, we counsel you should pick no more than 3 keyword phrases, sell one thing and sell it well.

You only have X amount of Google authority available to you at one time, attempting to spread a finite quantity of Google Juice over many keywords is counter productive in our experience. Every 6 weeks add 3 more keyword phrases to target, do NOT attempt all of them at once.

David, interesting stuff you point out, I will have to look into this a little more.  It makes sense that if you want Google to work with you then you need to work with Google.  Thanks for sharing. ~Karen

Very interesting.... but maintaining my two blogs is hard enough.  Wondering how I'll manage 3?!  Is one posting original content on all three?  I'm intrigued, but would love to hear more.  Thanks.

Hi David, Thanks for the information. Getting to page one on Google in a large populated area isn't easy, a specially when going it alone. I do post on 5 blogs and I know I'm getting results because I've have gotten leads from the internet.

David - What a great post. This really emphasizes that not one, not two but three. And there is just never enough to get the job done. I am going to look into your other options. And I am suggesting this for others to see hopefully others will click too. Get the word out.

Next up for me is wordpress and I will look at the blogger.com.

Thanks for taking the time to leave a comment:o)

Stephen Strickhausen: reply back with your blogspot blog url so we can follow it on our Google profiles, post the rss feed so we can sub it in in GoogleReader.

also post your blogger profile, you want THAT to rank in google when someone Google's your name:

For example Google my name: David Bruce Jr

You'll see my blogger profile there: http://www.blogger.com/profile/11541537639894691475

If any of you AR bloggers want some free help become our fan on Facebook and you're entitled to a 1 on 1 SEO consulting for free, best case scenario is we do a remote log in where we can hear each other on the phone, we can both move the mouse and I can show you what to do:

    http://www.facebook.com/itservicesfrederickmaryland/

Why would we do that for free (when we charge $100 an hour for the same thing)?

Because it's not good enough to get someone to become your fan, if you want your FB page to climb in rank you've got to provide value, reward someone for becoming your fan:

If your FB fans don't "say something" on your FB wall, Facebook's spam filter will block your outgoing messages!!!!
