Chicago Real Estate company Dream Town Realty is holding a special awards reception tonight for the winners of its “Chicago in Focus” photo competition. The event is also a fundraiser for local charity La Casa Norte, which assists Chicago’s homeless population. Photos showcased at the awards benefit will be featured in a bound coffee table book published by Dream Town in the fall.
The VIP reception is taking place at Vertigo Sky Lounge in Dana Hotel (2 W. Erie St.) from 5:00pm – 7:00pm tonight. First, second and third place winners will be presented with cash prizes and honorable mention photos will be exhibited in a slideshow. Sushi and cocktails will be served throughout the evening.
Over 50 members of the local media are slated to attend, including NBC5 co-anchor Allison Rosati, Elizabeth Taylor from the Chicago Tribune, and Amalie Drury of Chicago Social.
All guests are asked to contribute a suggested $10 donation to benefit La Casa Norte. The organization helps homeless and at-risk families, individuals and youths in Chicago’s Humboldt Park community. It runs several programs, including a Crisis Center, Supportive Housing and Job Placement and Training.
