13 Comments on Sold. Kelso Purina building in Searcy Arkansas. Soon to be no more so admire it now.
Thanks for the post.
The ghost is there.
Good luck in your area.
Barbara,
You end up with lots of cool photos of old buildings in your town.
Barbara: It's sad when a building that is part of the fabric of the town is going to be torn down...kind of like losing and old friend. Hopefully, tho, something good will take it's place.
Jeff and Heather, thanks for commenting.
Charles, I'd almost forgotten our beautiful Raven. She's even more lovely in her new life but I do wish she'd wear her necklace.
Steven, the cool buildings are getting fewer.
Kim, this is another one that has seen its day. With the freeway within feet, it is actually not safe anymore. But it was a landmark.
The owner of Kelso Purina Feed Store was Doyle Kelso. His wife's name was Jimeva...and most people got it wrong and called her Geneva. They had only one child, a darling girl: Kellie Ann Kelso, who was elected Governor of Girl's State probably around l962. Sadly Kellie died several years ago.
I am sad to know another landmark of "old" Searcy is biting the dust, but it doesn't surprise me.
Barbara - I continue to think it is wonderful that you photograph and document these old buildings before they have an opportunity to disappear into the sands of time. It's sad they couldn't rehabilitate the old building into another use.
Godmother,
Just yesterday I rescued the boss from voracious bees in an attic. For reals.
Godson
Anita, thanks for bringing us up to date on the family. I never knew any of the Kelso's.
Myrl, wish I could do as good with the photos as you do. These, however, were from MLS and Anita, not me.
Nutsy, in that suit, you'd have scared the bees away from the boss. Take it off!!
Godmother,
I know that you have always thought that I am very peachy, ha ha ha, in this outfit.
Nutsy
Nutsy, in that outfit you look like a sour lemon, and that make me sour. Take it off!!!
Barbara, are you saying you WANT Nutcase to show off the bikini again?
Charles, don't be rude to my little godson. He's just testing me and I always win when I threaten "the will."
