Being that I work in an industry that CREATES first impressions, I am a stickler for how end results look. This coupled with the fact that I worked in graphic arts, print media and advertising for years... I am passionate about how an advertising "message" is crafted AND presented. Whether the "message" is an ad of self promotion or an ad for a property that is for sale, what ever medium is used it is vital that it presents a clear, professional and well crafted message.

Today, part of real estate advertising is done through the means of virtual tours. And while there seems to be many virtual tour solutions... some of them, I have to admit, confuse me and make me literally nauseous. URP...all that distorted swirling and twirling.

Anyway, this past week I finally started playing with the virtual tour application by Real Estate Shows. Boy, was I amazed at how easy it was to use and how professional the end results were. As I was working on one show I started thinking of yet another way to apply this amazing yet simple technology. Because I was SO captivated and intrigued with what I could easily create (I actually went to bed at 3AM Saturday), I quickly made 5 more shows each with a different advertising purpose and focus.

Here the 6 different ways I ended up applying Real Estate Show's virtual tour application to help craft some compelling and differentiated advertising messages...

1.) First I know we all have what we feel is the "best of the best" in our lives. Wanting to have a simple way to feature some of ours, I made the show I called: Initially Vacant: Now Staged and Stunning which I then used in a post on my other blog site.

2.) The second show Staged Transformations Featuring Brook Furniture was sort of a thank-you gift to Brook Furniture Rental. It was a joy to do, not just because Real Estate Shows is so easy to use, but because Brook Furniture Rental is just a great partnering company to work with. But I digress...

3.) The third show is a "story telling show" called One Simple Staging. The purpose of this show was to capture the essence of home staging. And because we at Real Estaging know part of the success with our advertising messaging has been due to the fact  that we shoot all our Before and After pictures from the exact same position and angle, Real Estate Shows made it easy to further capitalize on this. In the show the Before picture magically MELTS right into a staged AFTER... creating a truly POWERFUL visual message.

4.) My next show was meant to be an educational show. At Real Estaging we know that sometimes what it takes to properly stage a home is NOT just what needs to be taken out of a property but what it needs to be put in. It is for this reason I created the show called: The Art of Using Staging Props.

5.) While working on the educational show, I began thinking about just was our "style" here at Real Estaging. I got the idea to do a show just on the color red and the way we use it when we stage.  So while it was supposed to be educational, this show ended up being artistic too. I simply called the show RED. I gotta admit it was the MOST fun to make. To see RED you'll have to go read my most recent post at Home Staging, Rants & Ravings. (PS: Put your speakers ON.)

6.) Then I got the idea that if I made a show on a particular home we staged... I  could then send it out to the Realtors who in turn could use it in their marketing and advertising efforts. Even if they already HAD a virtual tour or photos, having different photos taken from different angles would NEVER hurt. Here is Welcome Home... to Lake Barrington Shores.

My final reason I like to use Real Estate Shows is that it ONLY costs a mere $125 a year to use! THAT price is unbelievable considering I can go on to create any number of shows that feature: examples of our work, extend future thanks, tell staging stories, educate others, and help Realtors with their marketing efforts. Because Real Estate Shows is easy to use, creates a beatuful presentation and is so inexpensive, I can heartily recommend to any Realtor or Home Stager looking for an effective virtual tour solution without the nausea.

Oh, and the fact that the President of Real Estate Shows is Jeff Turner, one of most prolific and respected bloggers here on Active Rain, it makes this recommendation that much nicer.

Show It Forward...

PS: You will note that I have not linked in all my new shows here. That's because sometimes I need ideas for future blogs and these will help communicate the message I am trying to make in a blog in a more compelling way.

Oh and Craig - those other virtual tours also make me nauseated and make my head spin!  I had a buyer one time that said she couldn't tell a damn thing about any house that had one of those 360 tours and it made her so sick from the "spins" (like you get when you lie down if you've had too much to drink). LOL

I liked RES when I did the free trial, but I have questions.  Can I do my own narration?  Can I submit them to Veoh?  I've sent them to Jeff and am still waiting to hear back.

I'm thinking we could embed them in newsletters, too, right?

Also, how would you all compare the service to REHS who seem to have a huge presence on YouTube?

http://www.therealestatehomeshow.com/new-b.asp

Plus, RES only allows 9 photos... so there's no room for Befores as well as Afters, if you do whole house.

I'm going to have to echo everyone else - Northern Home Stager, Yvonne Root and I chatted about RES - They're easy to work with and a dynamite marketing tool - especially for home stagers to use with their clients (It's just one more thing that sets us apart from "others"). Thanks for sharing, Craig.

I will admit I haven't used them yet but have been looking at what others have created. My only concern is the music...puts me off and I always mute it. I had read somewhere that you sould not use music as many users are at work while they are surfing. I think the product looks great but like Juliet-I think they lose impact for not having room for the before shots. I also wish they had an automatic launch sequence..Many people will not take the step to click to activate. I often do not click on them to activate-of course I know they are all after shots! I do love the idea of using them  for specific targeted advertising. Great idea! I may have to play around some:)

Nice use of RES, Craig. I have been using them for almost a year now. Easy to use, and they can be used in a variety of ways, not just to showcase a home for listing purposes.

Craig - thank you for the post.  RES is a fabulous tool, so easy to use and reasonably priced.  My clients truly appreciate the CD's of the RES that I provide for themselves and their realtors.

Craig ~ I have been using RES for about two months now and the response from my clients has been wonderful. I wish that it allowed the use of more than 9 photos in a show, but I always include additional photos in the "extra photos" area.

Craig - First let me grab some Popcorn before I watch these award winning shows! :)

I have had this bookmarked for awhile. I really need to step it up.  I finally got a new camera, getting ready to buy Photoshop.  RES is next on my "Want" list.  Look out Staging Industry here I come!

P.S. I can't wait to see the "Red" show!

Love RES, and do plan to use it more creatively (time permitting).  I agree w/folks who are looking for more audio options.  I mean, there are times you just need something like "Hells Bells" to create the right mood!  LOL.  I'm guessing it's a royalty thing.

-Rock on!

Hey

Some great and fantastic ideas as usual. I haven't completely jumped on the RES wagon yet and have been contemplating it. I have to echo Juliet and Cheri. It's a bummer not being able to put before & afters on them. But it is a great way to differentiate ourselves from competitions who are non-AR members, of course ;D

Cheers,

Cindy
