Washingtonville really welcomes you! Our area has transitioned from dairy farms to a suburban and rural haven, for those who wish to escape urban living. I must tell you that our community is blessed with a great volunteer base for all the wonderful organizations we offer the public. Our fire departments, ambulance, religious groups, schools, and scouting are only some of the volunteer organizations you will be embraced by as part of joining.
The location of our town is an easy commute to just about all-major locations. Stewart Airport is virtually only minutes away. We have Metro North that is easy to get to from both ends of the area. NYS Rt. 17 and Rt. 84 are close to take you to your destination. New York City and New Jersey are about an hour drive. This is very desirable to our area residents, who still want to catch a Broadway show, dinner, or a ball game, and come back home to their nest. The area has plenty of shopping! The Woodbury Commons, area malls, and even local shops and craftsmen are at your disposal. Parks and sports are equally easy to find, from roller hockey to horse trails we have much to do in the area. Fine dining is also not difficult to find if you choose not to travel. Area wineries, such as our own Brotherhood Winery, offer a real taste of the town too!
