Once more into the breech Horatio!

Well it is final and I will go under the knife one more time on the 4th of September.  They will remove my voice box and then 3 days later will insert an artificial voice box and the quality of my speech should actually be better than it is today.

I am a little scared and anxious but more than any thing I just want to get it over with.  I am not looking forward to 10-14 days in Queens Hospital, but I am looking forward to being cancer free and able to get on with my life and my career.  I am so thankful to my company, Central Pacific Bank, Home Loan Division for giving me this exciting and challenging opportunity. I want to be able to contribute to their success and profitability for at least another five years.

My Dr says that I should be able to eat again by the end of September.  Since I have not had anything to eat since the 18th of Oct last year I am really looking forward to that. (Well if you consider 3 cans of goop through a feeding tube, eating, then I guess I have told a lie).  I cannot wait to be able to have a hot dog with mustard, relish and onions.

You have no idea how much my wife and I appreciate your caring, thoughts and prayers.  I am so thankful for this wonderful web site and all of you caring people on it.

Good Luck, Good Lending, and Aloha

Oh my Bruce, as a retired professional singer the idea of taking my "box" out is unthinkable.

I don't need to know you to offer my sincere wish, prayer and positive thoughts that this is just a hiccup in your health.  That by Christmas you will effortlessly be able to tell your family you love them. Maybe next Labor Day you will call me @ 831-335-2100 to celebrate ....what cha think about that.   We can sing a duet of you favorite standard.

Good luck Bruce...I've marked Sept 4th on my calendar so I will be reminded to pray extra hard for you.  I've been praying for you all along...since I found out about it.  God DOES answer prayer!

My list of Active Rainer's to pray for grows again.  Know that we're all thinking of you and thinking postive thoughts.

Patti -- Thanks so much and you have a deal. Next year on Labor Day I will call you and we can sing a duo. Do you know the Field Artillery Song?  Thanks so much for your kind thoughts and prayers. Aloha

Mary -- Thanks so much, and I know God is looking out for me.  God provided me a company to work for when my old company was about to fail.  That was a real miracle.  Aloha

Hi, Bruce.  Those voiceboxes are amazing.  It looks like the hotdog without ketchup date has changed.  Good thing- there has been a national recall on all hotdogs, from all companies, for a month or so- they'll have the good ones in the store in September.  I can't remember where I read that- probably the same place that nationally banned ketchup on dogs!

08/19/2007 05:26 PM by Options Realty

Bruce: And I'm the first to treat you to that hot dog! I'm sure I'll see you before then....

Hi Bruce, I'll be thinking of you and praying extra hard for you on Sept. 4th and again on the 7th!  I'm sure all will go well.

I can't wait for the day you can eat again!  A hotdog with mustard, relish and onions -- sounds good, but I like a little chili on mine too.

Hello Bruce,  I'm so glad that you will soon have this all behind you and be able to lead a normal life again with normal foods.  That's great news that you will be able to talk better than you can now~they truly can work miracles today. I look forward to the day when you can have a hot dog, I'll have my vegee hot dog ready at that time and toast to you with a glass of fresh spring water.

I'm keeping you in my talks with the universe and wishing all the best for you and your family.

Bruce:

You and your wife are in my prayers.

BTW. You should be comforted to know that when I pray, I pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, the only mediator between God and man.

Bruce,

If you get to Vegas I'll be glad to do the talking for both of us, Lord knows I'm rarly short of words.

There are those that say that the less you say the wiser you appear, I wouldn't know, but I've heard it said.

Best wishes from Brenda and I!

Bruce, great news that Trish is going to be with you and your wife!  Too bad she can't bring some of Rudy's BBQ and Shiner Bock!  They go together sooo well!
