TAKE CARE OF THE LITTLE THINGS    AND    THE BIG THINGS WILL TAKE CARE OF THEMSELVES

I feel so bad for one of my agents today.  After working hard on a deal, she is disappointed in a failed offer.  One tidbit of information was not gathered until after the fact.  She was operating on someone else's word.  This ruined the whole thing.

First things first.

Never get ahead of yourself.  No matter how sweet the deal looks, we must do the first things first.  If not, time is wasted, energy is wasted and another deal never happened.  It is a hard lesson to learn but one that will not be forgotten soon.

Follow your step by step plan and don't deviate.  It pays off in the end.

Don't have a plan?  How do you expect to get to where you want to go without a plan (a map)?  Need a plan, come talk to me.  I need some more good agents.

Hi Ricki!

Great post! I thought I was just OCD, but now I see I am just "taking care of the little things" :-)!

Thanks for a very good reminder, Rikki!  I do get off track sometimes but I already learned the not taking someone else's word lesson.  Lifelong learning is what we all have to do!

This is a detail business.  I learned that lesson back in my retail days - know your business better than the party you are competing against if you expect to thrive.

Hi Ricki... somehow this reminds me of one of my favorite sayings... "If you don't know where you're going, and road will take you there."

Hi Steve,  I love that, so true too!  Have a good day! :)

Yes Richard,   Checklists are important and we do use those.  They only work if you follow them though :)
