Safeway is planning to open a store in the USGBC Gold Certified building complex in Goodyear Arizona. It is located at the Mountain Ranch Marketplace at Estrella. You can find it at the northwest corner of Estrella Parkway and Elliot Road in Goodyear.
Kitchell Development Company and Newland are the developers of the center, and are proud all dozen buildings meet the environmental friendly standards.
The certification meets the USGBC certification for Core and Shell. But, once the tenants move in they may not use the LEED certification for their interior space advertising.
At this time there are about 128 commercial buildings that have LEED certifications in Arizona. With each year there will be more that qualify.
