We are thinking about employing either or both to support our agents.  Anyone have any positive or negative experiences with either?

I don't know anything about Hobbs and Herder but I am familiar with Craig Proctor - a waste of time and money he is an ego maniac and out of touch with todays real estate trends. Sure he had a successful Real Estate career but come on buyers do not want free brochures mailed to them.

I don't know anything about Craig Proctor, but have worked with HobbsHerder and have found the process to be very satifying and good for my business.

They developed my personal branding materials, including www.ISellGrandRapids.com, personal brochure, business cards, letterhead, home feature sheets, and postcards.  I use these materials every week and have generated more commission dollars each year than the initial investment (which is not a small number).

Their Gateway seminar is also powerful. I've gone twice and would go again.

Feel free to contact me directly if you have other, more specific questions that I might address.

Eric thanks.  The number of $22,000 sound familiar?

I think mine was a bit more than that, but I printed large quantities of everything.  The creative part was probably something in that range.  And when I'm talking about the commissions generated, it's the full bill of creative and production per year, each and every year.

What you as their boss have to do is.  Have your people do a business plan. In this plan they should set realistic goals for themselves to reach. If they acheive them so much the better. If not then you sit down and find out why. These are some the things that they talk about at these sessions. They are basically motivational speakers I was asked to do this a few years back. But, at the interview I told them that people who pay money to come and here their so called motivational speakers speak are already motivated, they paid to be there if that isnt motivation what is, all this person does is give you direction and tells you what to do. Which is something you already new and he just reinforced what you already knew.

Their are ways to execute both plans where there is a will to do so, MUCH cheaper!

I feel the same about Craig Proctor as already mentioned.

With Hobbs-Herder, their seminars are excellent and really motivational.  We elected not to go through their company for the personal branding.  We checked out local companies who do the same thing and have been relatively pleased.  Not too many people can afford HH, but they make you feel as if you should do it anyway.  I didn't like that tactic, so we found an alternative.

Yes, like many things you can always find someone who will do it cheaper.  I've looked at a lot of personal promotion pieces, and they cover the gambut from trash at one end, to well designed, beautifully worded, highly effective pieces on the other and everything in between.

No doubt HH isn't cheap, but from my experience, they were worth every penny I paid.  If I had it to do over again, I would.

Certainly not the only way to go, but certainly a way that has a strong, positive track record.

Craig Proctor is not my favorite!  I went to one of his seminars and I thought most of the ideas were cheesy to say the least.

Hobbs Herder is trying to get our company to go to the seminar.  I have a problem paying for a seminar so that they can sell me more products, but would love to see the polished results they get w/o the price.  IMO ROI should be at least 5X what's spent.  If you spend $22K on marketing materials will you really get back $110K extra?

SAVE your money. Hobbs/Herder is best at reeling in your money and they don't deliver on their promises. I am in the process of recovering $4000.00 from Hobbs/Herder in Small Claims court that they have had for over 3 1/2 years. These people are professional fleecers. They may have good catch ideas but nothing that you couldn't learn for pennies compared to what they charge.
