I would like to thank Swett & Crawford of Los Angeles for their donation to decorate the plaque in honor of Jake Karedjian a fallen Deputy here in Stevenson Ranch.

The Downed Officer Support Ride is an annual event which was held yesterday to raise funds and to honor fallen Officers and firefighters who have lost their lives protecting our communities.  One of the stops along the route is Jake Karedjians memorial park in Stevenson Ranch.

The support from Swett and Crawford provided the means to decorate his memorial in honor of this local hero. (see photos)

I would also like to acknowledge Charmaine of Charmaine's Rambling Rose Florist 26859 Bouquet Canyon Rd, Santa Clarita, CA (661) 251-7700 who personally delivered the flowers on a Sunday Morning to the memorial park here in Stevenson Ranch.

The 12th Annual Downed Officer ride raises funds to assist families of Fallen Officers/Firefighters and to honor them for their ultimate sacrifice.  You can donate throughout the year at http://www.downedofficers.com/

I was at the Sheriff's graduation ceremony in June over at College of the Canyons. They had a moving tribute to Jake Karedjian, including a photo montage using a Neil Diamond song called "The Story of My Life". Sheriff Lee Baca spoke of Jake's service and how he paid the ultimate price by giving his life. There wasn't a dry eye in the house as they showed the pictures of Jake as a child, on up to the time he served our community. Thank you for taking the time to honor his memory.

Hi Connie,

Thanks for sharing your experience and how the ceremony at college of the canyons honoring Jake Karedjian touched you.  The men and women of law enforcement and firefighters are trained to run towards a situation while everyone is running away.  Many have this calling to "serve and protect" in their blood.  I believe Jake and many of his peers were born to wear the uniform.  It was a privilege to honor this man.  Thanks again for your thoughts.
