Many people think of Oregon that
has a lot of rain and yes
we do, but, mainly during the winter months and this year was an extra
wet year. We
had record amounts in April, May and June this year averaging 25 days
of rain
in each of those months. It actually pushed our fresh fruits and
vegetables
back a little. We are just getting our blueberries and strawberries in
now and
they normally show up in the beginning of June.
But, as much as we
complain about the rain being her too
long, we will also complain about the sun being here too long also.
We really
like an even mix of sun and rain. We like the rain as it keeps our part
of the
country green. But, we also like to have the sun, so we can play out in
it and
enjoy the green that God has given us.
So, as we hideaway and lose our tans during the winter, during the summer months we find ways to remind ourselves of how much fun the rain was and we say to ourselves. Boy, can’t wait until it cools off and the rain returns. But, we seem to find ways to remind ourselves how much fun a good mud puddle can be even if we have to make it ourselves.
