Back to School - A Celebration - Nashua, New Hampshire

 The City of Nashua and the Greater Nashua Chamber of Commerce will host the Fourth Annual Back to School celebration which will take place on Thursday, August 23rd, from 5:00 to 6:30 P.M. at the Library Plaza and in the Library in Nashua, New Hampshire.  More that 1500 students are expected to attend.

    This  is a great marketing opportunity for Real Estate Professionals and their firms to help school children get ready to return to school!  Assistance from the  business community is needed and  welcome!

  • School supplies will be handed out to children - from first grade through high school
  • Families will have the opportunity to get information about programs and services offered;
  • Community agencies that provide health services, educational, and recreational opportunities for school-aged children will be on hand.

Donations can include:

  • pencils, pens, erasers, calculators, notebooks, pencil bags, index cards, scissors, notebook paper, clips,   backpacks, dictionaries, or anything that will make returning to school an exciting experience.
  • Even haircuts can be donated!
  • Recycle extra pads of paper, post-its, pens, rulers, backpacks etc.

        You can also donate money or a backpack full of items from $20-$30.

For more information on donations send an email to Mary-Ellen at the Nashua Chamber of commerce.  marcouillier@nashuachamber.com.   She can send you a sample of what to put into the backpack. Donations can be dropped of at the Chamber office on 151 Main Street.

Perhaps there is a similar back to school event in your local community!

Note:  Shuttle bus service to and from the event will be provided by First Student, Inc.  Buses will pick-up at Amherst Street School, Sargent Ave entrance, and the front entrances at Dr. Crisp, Fairgrounds Elementary, and Ledge Street schools.  Buses will run from 4:30 - 7:00 P.M. on the half hour.

Thansk for the comment. That is another great idea.  I enjoy combining marketing with things that promote education, music, sports and arts for kids.

I hope that there are other communities that are helping kids get the supplies they need to go back to school.  We have a lot of kids in the state that need some assistance.

Hi sue:  This was a great event -- It is so important to make sure that kids have the tools they need.  With budget cuts and some families facing economic challenges, this give kids a head start.
