There's no hair on these tomatoes! Golfer tomatoes! Success at last.

When I came home today I found this lovely bowl of tomatoes on the kitchen counter.  Not just strung out on the counter in any old syle but nicely rounded in this little bowl with the best sides forward!

Tomatoes, golfer style

In case anyone wants to go back and read about my husband's tomato farming, the blogs are listed in this blog.  They were pretty funny when I had to report on his bringing hair home from the barber shop to put around his tomato plants.  And about his !@#$% words aimed at the deer who sneaked into the yard and ate his tomatoes.

This year, he just dragged in two huge red pots and planted three plants in the pots in the flower beds near the back porch. He had only a few fights with worms and deer and a huge fight with heat.  But he was successful!  Look at these beauties!  I thought this gift was better than a dozen roses anyday.

Barbara!  They look so good and you can almost smell them!  Thanks for sharing - and I'm so glad the hair stayed outside!

Dindy, you're so right about tomatoes, home-grown.

Kathleen, I'll take tomatoes over roses any day of the week.

Jack, I liked having "no hair" tomatoes this year.  Thanks for comment.

Godmother,

Next you need to get him interested in the art of horticulture that includes growing savory nuts.

Nutsy, my little love nut, no one could grow another you.  He might as well not try.

Barbara - I usually put in 2 or 3 tomato plants each year.  It amazes me how production can vary year to year.  Two years ago, I had tomatoes coming out my ears.  Last year was not a good year.  This year I had a ton of tomatoes about 2 weeks ago, but haven't really had any since. . .Strange!

Myrl, going by what you've said about a few plants, can you imagine the horrors of being a farmer and having production vary so much!  The farmers deserve our praise and admiration.

I have gotten rid of all the varmints that have been plaguing my tomato crop. Now it's fresh salsa and tomatoes every day for awhile...

Godmother,

I believe that fur on squirrels is good. Fur on tomatos not as good. I am praying for continued bounty in your garden.

Godson, your greatest admirer

Michael, you're just a big tomato braggart!!  I'm jealous of all those fresh tomatoes.  I'm afraid my small bowl has been emptied.

Russel, I guess we'll have to look to Michael Thornton for our tommy toes.

Monkson Nutsy, you have vastly improved in behavior lately.  I may increase your inheritance.
