This was taken at dusk this about this time last year in Houston Missouri. The person you see in the red hat is my baby sister. (I say baby, but she's actually 19 and got married this year!) I was out roaming about with my camera, and photographing everything to my little shutterbug heart's content, when she popped up out of literally no where. The light was just so amazing! It has that sort of otherworldly twilight feel to it, and I love how the hat just pops against the deep emerald green of the forest. It was one of those wonderful pictures came out perfect in a single shot. Which was very fortunate because my sister hates getting her photo taken! ;)
You live in a beautiful area - I'd carry a camera around with me too if I lived there! Great shot :-)
Ellen - Thanks and will do! ;) She has such a perfect face for photographs, but the lil booger almost never lets me get her picture. :)
Mario - Thanks, and you are most welcome! I love seeing all the different pictures that people put up on AR. There are so very many beautiful things in the world that I would never get to see otherwise. ;)
Bill - I think her iPod is permanently attached to her ear and arm. ;) She loves music as much as I do, and we actually have very similar taste in music. The difference is that I get the edited version, and she does not. . . . I think that might me a Mom thing though. ;)
Mike - Thanks! :) It's so peaceful there that you almost hate to click the shutter and disturb the absolute stillness. My favorite thing is the way everything is just so completely green! It's awesome. ;)
I don't know why she would hate having her photo taken... the camera likes her very much... she looks like a high-fashion model (decked out for an L.L.Bean, or Land's End Catalogue shoot.).
Alan - Thanks! She is totally gorgeous (and I'm not just saying that because she's my sister!;) but she loathes having her picture taken. It's really quite funny! My sister went through a phase where every time you pointed a camera at her she would quickly turn around and as a result my mom has a huge album of pictures entitled "Laura's Bum On Vacation". ;) When she got married in March of this year, she consented to let me take her wedding photos. I'm telling you the kid got clobbered by the beautiful stick, I could not have gotten a bad shot of her if I tried! ;)
Barbara - Thanks! Like I said she really pretty, but silly about it. . . but then I guess silly is preferable to her being vain. ;)
You picture taking crazy woman! HA! That is a great pic. It looks like a scary movie... lol... And kind of like twilight! I bet she is listening to Country! HAHAHAHAH! :)
Bill - ACK!!! Make the banjos stop!!! . . . . You know, I've never actually seen that movie? ;)
Phly, How can you not have seen Deliverance? (sez the person who has never seen Citizen Kane).
And believe it or not, this "rocker" doesn't mind the occasional blue grass! I can't understand what they're singing half the time, but do like the instrumental parts. Raised on Chet Atkins and Herb Alpert might be part of the explanation :)
Bill
Such a peaceful looking shot - looks like Sis is calm and has no stress for that moment in time !
