When Emotions Get in the Way of Making Good Decisions For Distressed Families
Emotions get in the way when making decisions. . that is even more apparent when you are selling your home is a distressed situation.
When feelings get in the way of making decisions to protect yourself and your family, it is that much harder to make the right choice.
Being focus at this time is critical and emotions are just a cloud that prevents you from seeing the whole picture in a clear manner.
Often times the right choice is usually not the simple choice, matters have to be carefully considered and tie them together to see what you are trying to accomplish.
Doing short sales, this is part of my process for my clients, to give them a clear vision of what are the consequences in choosing doing a short sale and allow them to take charge on their own.
Amazingly enough, after doing many of these listing appointments, I learned that listening is the better approach . . and in that process, I learned a lot about myself
Short Sales are emotional sales and there is no denying them. .
and here's a few tips for you:
If you are the seller: Acceptance is the key. Get the facts, analyze them and make a decision
If you are the buyer: Be considerate. This was the sellers dream home at one time. . .it is not proper to ask the homeowners to leave their dining room table since they will not need it in the smaller place they moving too.. . (it happened, really)
If you are the buyers agent: Don't ask me what I can do for you.. .(as a listing agent) Ask me what you can do to help me close it and we both get paid! . .plus prepare your buyer!
If you are on my role as a listing agent: Pretend they are your family. . and you will never go wrong!
