Being Broken is an Opportunity for Real Life Transformation

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Selley Group Real Estate, LLC

For those who are feeling shattered because of their real estate circumstances and need encouragement about contemplation, here are some poignant thoughts from my husband…

Real life transformation cannot be properly explained without addressing the inner sanctum of our souls. It’s a place where the well-springs of life actually flow and also, it is the same place where we tend to hide when we feel irreparably damaged and severely wounded, as this relates to our physical, mental and/or emotional being. By our very nature, we desire life and we desire it abundantly. Yet, when we’re broken into pieces, this place of life can turn into a place of darkness where truth gets submerged under several layers of self-delusion.

To cope, we try to find other places to live to replace what is missing about our own sense of vitality. But instead, we end up embezzling from false ideas about who we are or we radically engage in unhealthy behaviors to try to soothe the deep and aching wounds of our hurting soul. To go back to that place where our brokenness all started is oftentimes too hard for most of us to do. It is very confusing, too elusive and too painful, to try heal the wounds of the past. Besides, we usually feel powerless because we are unable to solve the reasons for why our wounds were sharply opened to begin with, and then we feel even more impotent when we’re unable to adequately heal ourselves from the brutality of our wretched experiences.

Unquestionably, injustice, conflict and suffering can be found throughout several individual life stories. In fact, as the relational tragedies continue to grow so do the complexity of our problems, many for which we do not have any immediate solutions. Even though we assimilate gobs of information through emerging technologies, we’re still missing another aspect about being severely wounded. I think it’s just as prudent to embrace the full meaning with what has happened to us, as this common link about our brokenness, I firmly believe, will actually lead us on an enriching path of self-discovery.

Unfortunately this is true - pain is inevitable, suffering is optional. How long we stay in the wilderness depends on our attitude.

Janice said it so well.  We can either wallow in the mire or we can get up, dust ourselves off and get back up on that horse.

Beverly,

Ironic how we need to become nothing before we see the light about redemption.

Cherise,

Thanks for sharing this.  It is inspiring and heartwarming.  Phoenix will always rise from the ashes, and the ashes is what Phoenix needs.  Thanks again, as long as there is hope, there is everything.

This is SO true--attitude is EVERYTHING!  We must reflect deep within our souls to discover what the true underlying issue is and move to remedy that.  We are dealt a variety of obstacles which we must overcome and depending upon how we process the problem/obstacle, is how we'll see through to the resolution.

This post made me think!  We can't take all the credit for everything, and we won't always have mountaintop experiences.  Sometimes we need a valley experience to prepare us for the rejoicing of getting back to the mountain peak.  I am thankful that I have a Savior who walks and talks me through every obstacle, double rejoicing for me :)

Marilyn,

This post represents some of the preliminary thoughts into real life transformation, where His Spirit dwells in you because of the cross and resurrection of Christ.
